Catedrática de Ingeniería Química en la Universidad de Cantabria, España. Se
licenció y obtuvo el grado de Doctora en Ciencias (Químicas) en la
Universidad del País Vasco en 1980 y 1985 respectivamente. Ha sido Directora
del Departamento de Química, 1996-200 y del de Ingeniería Química y Química
Inorgánica de la Universidad de Cantabria, 2003-04.
La
actividad en la Universidad de Cantabria ha sido compatibilizada con la
colaboración con el Plan Nacional de I+D+i en calidad de gestora de los
programas de Medio Ambiente,
1998-2000 y Procesos y Productos Químicos y Recursos Naturales: Tecnologías
Ambientales: 2000-02 respectivamente. En octubre de 2005 fue nombrada
coordinadora del área de Tecnología Química en la ANEP para el periodo
2005-08. Ha participado en diferentes comisiones, entre otras en la CNEAI en
el bienio 2002-03, en el Comité Científico del programa internacional INTAS
2003-06 etc. Recientemente (mayo 2008) ha sido nombrada Académica
Correspondiente Nacional de
la Real Academia
de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales
En la
actualidad es la responsable del grupo de investigación
“Procesos Avanzados de Separación” de la
Universidad de Cantabria. La investigación gira en torno a dos líneas
temáticas:
1) Diseño, Intensificación e Integración de Procesos de Separación como
parte fundamental en el desarrollo sostenible de los procesos industriales,
y 2) Investigación y Desarrollo de Tecnologías y Procesos Limpios para el
tratamiento de aguas y efluentes industriales.
Ha sido
investigadora responsable en la realización de más de 40 proyectos de I+D+i
financiados por organismos públicos y privados de carácter internacional
(UE) y nacional. Ha publicado más de 150 artículos y dirigido 20 tesis
doctorales. |
Inmaculada Ortiz
is Professor of Chemical Engineering and former Department Head at
Universidad de Cantabria, Spain. She obtained her B.S. degree and Ph.D in
Sciences (Chemistry) at the Universidad del País Vasco in 1980 and 1985,
respectively. After being Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the
Universidad del País Vasco she joined Cantabria in 1992. She was Head of the
Chemistry Department from 1996 to 2000 and of the Chemical Engineering and
Inorganic Chemistry department from 2003-2004.
The
activity at the Universidad de Cantabria has been shared with the
collaboration with the National R&D
program. She was Scientific Officer of the National R&D
programmes on Environment, Chemical Processes and Products and Natural
Resources: Environmental Technologies from 1998-2000 and 2000-2002
respectively. She was proposed as coordinator of the Chemical Technology
area of the spanish ANEP (National Agency of Evaluation and Prospective) for
the period 2005-2008. She has been a member in different Committees, i.e.,
National Commission for the evaluation of research activity, 2002-03; member
of the Council of Scientists of INTAS 2003-06, etc. Recently (May, 2008) she
has been nominated as correspondent member of the Spanish Real Academia de
Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales.
She is the leader of the research group
“Advanced Separation Processes”.
The research interests of Inmaculada Ortiz are in the areas of,
i) Design, intensification and integration of separation processes according
to the concept of sustainability,
and, ii)
R&D
of clean techniques and clean processes for the treatment of waste waters
and hazardous effluents.
She has been responsible of the development of more than 40 R&D
projects funded by international (UE) and national public and private
organizations. She has authored more than 150 papers and has graduated 20
Ph. D. students.
In 2006 she promoted the creation of the spin-off APRIA Systems S.L. |
