This Readme file describes the installation procedures for the MrSID GeoVeiwer 
and the release notes for the 2.1 release.

1.0	Install MrSID GeoViewer

Double-click on the Setup.exe file and follow the installation instructions.

2.0	Launch MrSID GeoViewer
----------------------------------------

Launch the MrSID GeoViewer by selecting the Start menu and navigating to 
Programs/Lizardtech/MrSID GeoViewer. Alternately, the program may be launched
directly from the C:\Program Files\LizardTech\MrSID GeoViewer directory. 
The executable program file for the MrSID GeoViewer is:

MrSIDGeoViewer.Exe

Double-click on the executable to launch the program.

3.0	Installation for MrSID Viewer 2.0 Users
------------------------------------------

The 2.1 version of the MrSID GeoViewer will not overwrite the existing 2.0 version 
of the MrSID Viewer.  To remove the existing version of the MrSID Viewer:

1.  Click on the Windows Start menu.
2.  Navigate to Settings/Control Panel.
3.  Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
4.  Scroll to MrSID Viewer.
5.  Click on the file name to highlight MrSID Viewer.
6.  Click Add/Remove...
7.  The MrSID Viewer uninstaller will remove the components of the MrSID Viewer.

4.0	Release Notes
------------------------------------------

1.  When setting the background color on a grayscale MrSID (*.sid) image, a shade 
of gray must be used.    

2.  CMYK images are displayed with a default unit of meters. 

3.  If a MrSID (*.sid) image is zoomed repeatedly before the image is fully loaded
there may be unexpected behavior in the redraw of the individual zoom level.

4.  Upon panning and zooming, the following error may occur with some configurations
of Windows NT and Windows 95 systems a Error: Error in Subband 2:: intersect ().

5.  Upon canceling a print job a partial print of the image will still be generated.

6.  Windows 95 users:  If you receive the following error after installing the
MrSID GeoViewer 2.1 and restarting the computer:  Error Message:  Error Starting 
Comctl32.dll.  

To correct this problem, follow these steps:

	a.  Restart the computer to a command prompt.  To do so, restart the 
	computer, press the F8 key when you see the "Starting Windows 95" message,
	and then choose Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu.

	b.  Type the following commands.  Press ENTER after each command:
		cd\windows\system
		ren comctrl32.dll comctl32.old

	c.  Extract a new version of the Comctl32.dll from your original Windows 95 
	disks or CD-ROM to the Windows\System folder.

	NOTE:  When you start your computer to a command prompt, you may not have 
	access to the CD-ROM drive.  You may have to load real-mode CD-ROM drivers
	to access the CD-ROM drive.  For information about installing these drivers, 
	please consult the CD-ROM drive's documentation or manufacturer.

	d.  At the C:\windows\system> prompt, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to restart
	your computer in normal mode.

7.  Windows NT Server users:  Windows NT Service Pack 5 is required.
